Tutorial 7 of 7
Projects, reports, sharing and automation
Advanced 10 min
Save and share Agentlab projects, import data from files and other apps, export reports and reminders, and build projects from scripts or AI agents.
1. Projects
Agentlab autosaves the open project in this browser and keeps the last 12 in File → Recent projects…. Browser storage can be cleared, so keep important work as a file:
- File → Save project file (Ctrl+S) writes
<name>.agentlab.json; Open project file… (Ctrl+O) reads it back. - File → Copy share link… puts the whole project into the link (
#project=…); nothing is uploaded. Secrets in agent configurations are already redacted unless you switched redaction off. - Signed-in visitors with Google Drive connected get Save to Drive, Open from Drive and auto-save in the top bar.
Every edit can be undone (Ctrl+Z / Ctrl+Y), including deleted checks, cleared histories and gate changes.
2. Bring data in
Drop files onto the workspace or use File → Import files…. Agentlab recognises MCP client configurations, tools/list results, OpenAI and Anthropic tool arrays, chat transcripts, JSONL trace events, eval CSVs, JSON Schemas, JSON lines of model outputs, OpenRouter model lists, HTML pages and robots.txt, and creates the matching check. File → Paste data… does the same for the clipboard.
Other premium apps can hand JSON or text to Agentlab through the App Bridge (“Open in another app…”); it goes through the same recogniser.
3. Get results out
The Export menu has:
- Print report or save as PDF… — the report from the Report tab (verdict, gates, findings per area, cross-checks, all checks);
- Report (Markdown), Findings (CSV), Findings (JSON), Checks overview (CSV), Release gates (CSV);
- Review reminders (.ics) — one all-day event per review date with an alarm (set the lead time in File → Project settings…); checks without a date get a re-run suggestion 30 days after their last run;
- charts as SVG or PNG: findings per area, plus the permission graph, cost chart, cost sweep, trace lanes or eval chart of the selected check;
- Open report in another app… and Open findings … in another app… when another premium app accepts Markdown, tables or JSON.
CSV cells that start with =, +, - or @ are prefixed so spreadsheets do not run them as formulas.
4. Automate with the API and MCP
All twelve tools are available on the Agentlab host:
- JSON API:
POST https://agentlab.usefulweb.site/api/v1/tools/<tool-id>/calculate, definitions at/api/v1/tools/<tool-id>, OpenAPI at/openapi.json; - MCP:
https://agentlab.usefulweb.site/mcp(serverusefulweb-agentlab).
The project format is a JSON Schema at /project.schema.json. A script or an AI agent can build a project — checks with their inputs, gates, even runs — and open it for a human with https://agentlab.usefulweb.site/app#project=<base64url JSON>. A minimal project:
{"format":"agentlab-project","version":1,"name":"Nightly check",
"checks":[{"kind":"schema","name":"Triage JSON",
"inputs":{"schema":"{\"type\":\"object\",\"required\":[\"category\"]}","outputs":"{\"category\":\"billing\"}\n---\n{}"}}]}
Open it, press Run all, and the gates decide.
5. Keyboard
Press ? for the shortcut sheet. Single-key shortcuts (1–6 for the tabs, N to add a check, / to search) can be switched off there, for example when you use speech input.
